We are a new congregation in a historic setting.  The Vinings United Methodist Church has been in the community for over fifty years in its current location.  At one time, it was the "old school house" that served to educate many of the young people who lived in this area.  As the community changed and many of the former residents relocated, the congregation changed.  Our congregation is experiencing new growth and is in its infancy.  As new members join our fellowship and new programs are implemented to meet the needs of our congregants, we are experiencing Christian growth.

Our goal is to introduce men, women, boys and girls to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  We want each of you to come to know that there is new life in Christ.  Hope, joy, love and an undying faith in God await you in this church community.

Sunday School is at 9:45 a.m. followed by Sunday Morning Worship at 11 a.m....We invite you to come and share in the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Join us and become part of a vital and flourishing family of faith!

About Our Pastor: Rev. Beth Dickinson comes to us from McKendree UMC in Lawrenceville where she spent the last four years as Pastor with Students. Before the appointment at McKendree, Beth served as assistant youth director at her home church—Harmony Grove UMC in Lilburn. Beth’s call to ministry came while working with the youth at her home church. Beth graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Chemistry in 1998. She worked for two years as a chemist in midtown before answering the call to ministry. Beth graduated from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in 2003 with a Master of Divinity degree.  Beth is married to Keith Dickinson who is a chemistry teacher at Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee. The two have been married for 7 years. They are the proud parents of Jacob who is 2 years old. Bruce Cook 770-333-9254 Wednesday Night Supper: 6:00 p.m.* Wednesday Night Prayer: 7:00 p.m. * These two activities are held at Cumberland United Methodist Church ~ 2375 Paces Ferry Road.  DISCIPLE  Disciple is a 9-month-long Bible study class that takes you through the entire Bible.  While it does require a commitment to you, the rewards are well worth it!  It entails a weekly class (Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 pm), along with daily study of selected Bible passages.  If you are interested in any of the following, Setting aside a quiet time each day to hear God speak to you through his Word Reading the Bible in a structured format Getting a deeper understanding of God’s covenant with His people (that’s you!)
