Volunteer Opportunities
Whether you are searching for a rewarding and special way to spend your time or looking for ways to renew or increase your commitment to children, the patients and families at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta need you and Vinings is here to help.
Our volunteers are called Friends. For the children and families in Georgia and the Southeast who need the high quality care Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta provides, the difference our volunteers make is immeasurable.
Why Friends? We believe “every child needs a friend.” And we know that there are countless ways to make a difference in the lives of children - and have fun! No matter how much time you have to give or what kind of volunteering you enjoy most, our menu of opportunities has a variety of options. You can choose what’s right for you.
Each year, Vinings Friends aligns our own fund-raising and service goals with the mission of Children’s. Not only do fund-raising proceeds go toward Children’s programs and facilities, but the time generously given by our volunteers also saves Children’s hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. The difference Friends volunteers make goes far beyond financial impact. Every moment spent with patients and families at Children’s makes a child’s stay a little brighter - and that’s a gift worth more than you can imagine.
By giving your time to Children’s, you can help make the world a safer, healthier place for children to grow and make many new "friends" in Vinings. What a great cause!
Children’s Response Transport Team
Children’s has a fleet of uniquely designed ambulances. Each ambulance is a mobile intensive care unit with the same quality of equipment found in the Children’s neonatal and/or pediatric Intensive Care Units. The ambulances are tailored to the unique needs of children. For instance, the vehicles are large enough to accommodate parents who accompany their child.
Note: The emergency vehicles used by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta are funded by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Friends.
