The Ruth Carter Vanneman Foundation, Inc established the Vinings Historic Preservation Society (VHPS) in 1992. Our mission is to preserve and maintain the Pace House, the Old Pavilion, the Vinings Center and the surrounding grounds. We strive to collect and display Pace Family and Vinings artifacts and other memorabilia for the interest and education of the public in general and the Vinings community in particular.
The Board of Directors for the Foundation has been quite successful in many projects including restoring the historic home of Soloman Pace and the Yarbrough House, rescuing the Old Pavilion from destruction and creating a special events facility available for public and private celebrations. We are making a strong effort to enhance the community of Vinings Village by education the public about our rich history.
Through donations of money, time, and interest in the VHPS, contributors at all levels can dramatically further the cause of historic preservation in Vinings. Even though we have been successful preserving several key historic items, other treasures in our community continue to be lost each year. Our history is all that we have to link to our past and future generations.
